Protection for Athletes - Definitions
Definition of Occupation
Pro Financial Services will entertain all professions for Pro Plus Disability Insurance. This protection is based on "Own-Occupation" coverage versus "Any-Occupation" coverage. The important differences between these two definitions of occupation and examples of how Pro Plus Disability Insurance would provide "Own-Occupation" coverage for you and your business partners are as follows.
Own-Occupation Coverage: The insurance industry defines this type of coverage as paying you benefits when you suffer a disability that precludes you from performing the major duties of your occupation or profession. Due to its specificity, this is the most desirable type of disability insurance.
Any-Occupation Coverage: This type of disability insurance will only pay benefits if you are unable to perform any job, whether it is related to your current occupation or not. PFS does not offer this type of disability insurance.
