Protection for Doctors - Definitions

Definition of Occupation
Pro Financial Services will consider all medical doctors for Pro Plus Disability Insurance. The protection is based on "Own-Occupation" coverage versus "Any-Occupation" coverage.

Own-Occupation Coverage: The Insurance industry defines this type of coverage as paying you benefits when you suffer a disability that precludes you from performing the major duties of your occupation or profession. Due to its specificity, this is the most desirable type of disability insurance. Your occupational definition would be Medical Doctor.

Definitions of occupation include, but are not limited to:

Medical Doctor
Specialized Medical Doctor (Anesthesiologist, Cardiologist, etc.)
Specialized Surgeon (Neurosurgeon, Plastic Surgeon, etc.)

Any-Occupation Coverage: This type of disability insurance will only pay benefits if you are unable to perform any job, whether it is related to your current occupation or not. PFS does not offer this type of disability insurance.
